Overview
Shuanghuang Gout Capsule is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) developed by Zhongshan Hengsheng Pharmaceutical for the treatment of gout and hyperuricemia. It is specifically formulated to address the "Qi deficiency, damp-heat, and blood stasis" syndrome (气虚湿热瘀阻证) in patients. The drug has been evaluated in Phase 2 clinical trials in China, where its efficacy and safety were compared against allopurinol tablets. As a botanical-based therapy, it is intended to lower serum uric acid levels and manage the inflammatory symptoms associated with gouty arthritis through multi-target mechanisms characteristic of its herbal constituents.
