Shuangshen Xionglian

Shuangshen Xionglian is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) compound developed by the Xiyuan Hospital of the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences. It is primarily indicated for the treatment of stable angina pectoris and coronary heart disease (CHD), particularly in patients presenting with the TCM syndrome of Qi deficiency and blood stasis. The formula typically consists of four key herbal components: *Salvia miltiorrhiza* (Danshen), *Panax ginseng* (Renshen), *Andrographis paniculata* (Chuanxinlian), and *Epimedium brevicornu* (Yinyanghuo). Its mechanism of action is multi-targeted, involving anti-inflammatory effects (primarily through the inhibition of NF-kappaB and reduction of C-reactive protein), improvement of coronary microcirculation, protection of vascular endothelial cells, and inhibition of platelet aggregation.
