Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Shufeiya prescription** is an investigational traditional Chinese herbal formula comprising *Salvia miltiorrhiza* root and rhizome, safflower flower, *Cornus officinalis* fruit, and *Platycodon grandiflorus* root. It is being studied for pulmonary hypertension. In monocrotaline-induced pulmonary-hypertension rat models, the formula reduced mean pulmonary artery pressure and was associated with modulation of oxidative-stress and nitric-oxide signaling, including SIRT3/FOXO3a, PI3K/AKT/eNOS, NO-sGC-cGMP-PKG, and Ras/MEK/ERK pathways. A registered early-phase clinical study evaluates effects on pulmonary artery systolic pressure and quality of life in patients with pulmonary hypertension.
