Shugan Jieyu Xifeng Decoction is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formulation developed by the Shanghai Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is primarily indicated for the treatment of insomnia comorbid with anxiety disorder. The decoction is designed based on TCM principles to soothe the liver (Shugan), relieve depression or stagnation (Jieyu), and extinguish internal wind (Xifeng), which are therapeutic strategies aimed at stabilizing the nervous system and improving sleep quality by addressing underlying emotional and energetic imbalances. It is currently being evaluated in randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trials to assess its efficacy and safety compared to standard care or placebo.
