Overview
Shugan Ningshen is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) granule formulation developed by Beijing Kaijin Technology (Kawin Technology) for the treatment of insomnia. It was developed as a Class 1.1 new TCM drug in China, specifically targeting insomnia characterized by liver qi stagnation and fire transformation patterns. The formulation is designed to soothe the liver, clear heat, and calm the spirit (Shen). Clinical studies have demonstrated its efficacy in improving sleep quality, reducing sleep latency, and alleviating associated symptoms such as irritability and dream-disturbed sleep. It represents a standardized approach to TCM in the neuropsychiatry space, providing an alternative to conventional sedative-hypnotics with a focus on restoring internal balance.
