Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Shugan Xiaozhi Granules is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation developed as a hospital preparation by the Shenzhen Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital. It is primarily indicated for the treatment of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), now often referred to as metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD), particularly in patients presenting with abnormal alanine aminotransferase (ALT) levels. The formulation is designed according to TCM principles to soothe the liver and resolve dampness, which translates to modern pharmacological actions of hepatoprotection and regulation of lipid metabolism. Clinical evaluation of the granules focuses on their ability to reduce hepatic fat content, improve liver function markers, and modulate serum lipid profiles in affected patients.
