Shuganning (舒肝宁) is a traditional Chinese medicine injection composed of extracts from five herbs: Artemisia capillaris (茵陈), Gardenia jasminoides (栀子), Scutellaria baicalensis (黄芩), Isatis indigotica root (板蓝根), and Ganoderma lucidum (灵芝). It is used primarily for the treatment of acute and chronic liver diseases, including viral hepatitis, drug-induced liver injury, cholestatic hepatitis, cirrhosis, and hepatic failure. The formulation is based on classical TCM principles to "clear heat," detoxify the body, promote bile flow, protect hepatocytes, reduce inflammation and oxidative stress in the liver. Its mechanism involves anti-inflammatory effects and hepatoprotection through multiple pathways relevant to TCM theory[4][6][8][10].
