Shulifenxiao formula

Shulifenxiao formula is a traditional Chinese herbal medicine regimen used as an alternative or adjunctive therapy for nephrotic syndrome, particularly in patients with refractory idiopathic membranous nephropathy (RIMN) and primary membranous nephropathy (PMN) who are resistant to corticosteroids and immunosuppressants. The formulation is considered a "clinical cocktail therapy" and has demonstrated efficacy in reducing proteinuria, increasing serum albumin levels, improving estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR), and achieving remission in clinical studies. It is often used alone or in combination with low-dose cyclophosphamide. The mechanism of action appears to involve immunomodulation and reduction of anti-phospholipase A2 receptor antibody titers[1][2][3][4]. The safety profile is favorable with few adverse effects reported.
