Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Shuling Jianpi (specifically Shuling Jianpi Jiaonang) is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation developed and manufactured by Fuzhou Meifeng Pharmaceutical Factory, a subsidiary of Jinling Pharmaceutical. It is primarily indicated for the treatment of diarrhea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome (IBS-D). The drug's therapeutic profile is characterized by its ability to regulate gastrointestinal motility, reduce visceral hypersensitivity, and improve the intestinal mucosal barrier function. Pharmacological studies suggest that it modulates the brain-gut axis, specifically by regulating the levels of neurotransmitters such as serotonin (5-HT) in the colonic mucosa and reducing the expression of inflammatory cytokines. In TCM theory, the formula is designed to invigorate the spleen, resolve dampness, and harmonize the stomach, addressing the underlying patterns of spleen deficiency and dampness encumbrance often associated with chronic functional gastrointestinal disorders.
