Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Shun Qi Tong Xie (SQTX) granule is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) herbal formula developed for the treatment of diarrhea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome (IBS-D). It specifically targets patients presenting with a TCM pattern of liver-spleen disharmony. Modified from the classic Tong-Xie-Yao-Fang (TXYF) decoction, SQTX granule is formulated with six Chinese herbs: Bai Shao (Paeonia Radix alba), Bai Zhu (Atractylodis macrocephalae Rhizoma), Xie Bai (Alli macrostemi Bulbus), Che Qian Zi (Plantaginis Semen), Fo Shou (Citri sacrodactylis Fructus), and Bo He You (Oleum Mentha haplocalycis). SQTX granule has been evaluated in a Phase 3 randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, multicenter clinical trial in China to assess its efficacy and safety in reducing abdominal pain, distention, and diarrhea.
