Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Shutong Granules is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) developed by Beijing Derun Liuhe Pharmaceutical Technology Co., Ltd. specifically for the treatment of chronic pelvic inflammatory disease (CPID). The formulation is designed based on TCM principles to address the syndrome of Qi stagnation and blood stasis, which is commonly associated with persistent pelvic pain and inflammation in women. The drug consists of a proprietary blend of herbal extracts, including *Salvia miltiorrhiza* and *Cyperus rotundus*, which are traditionally used to promote blood circulation, resolve stasis, and alleviate pain. Clinical development in China has progressed through Phase 3 trials, focusing on the reduction of clinical symptoms such as lower abdominal pain, lumbosacral soreness, and inflammatory markers in patients with CPID.
