si-91H is a small interfering RNA (siRNA) designed to silence the expression of the long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) 91H. In preclinical research involving estrogen receptor-positive (ER+) breast cancer cell lines, such as MCF-7 and T47D, knockdown of 91H using si-91H has been shown to inhibit cell proliferation and migration, increase sensitivity to tamoxifen, and promote tamoxifen-induced apoptosis. The mechanism involves the inhibition of the mTOR signaling pathway, specifically reducing the levels of phosphorylated mTOR (p-mTOR). It is primarily utilized as a research tool to investigate the role of lncRNA 91H in tumorigenesis and endocrine therapy resistance.
