si-CDKN2B-AS1 is a small interfering RNA (siRNA) designed to silence the long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) CDKN2B-AS1 (cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor 2B antisense RNA 1). In pathological conditions such as childhood asthma, CDKN2B-AS1 is upregulated and recruits DNA methyltransferase 1 (DNMT1) to the promoter of ZFP36, leading to its methylation and subsequent downregulation. By silencing CDKN2B-AS1, this siRNA restores ZFP36 expression, which then interacts with NR4A1 to inhibit the NF-κB signaling pathway. This therapeutic approach aims to reduce airway inflammation, inhibit apoptosis of bronchial epithelial cells, and alleviate airway hyperresponsiveness.
