si-KITENIN is a small interfering RNA (siRNA) designed to silence expression of the KITENIN gene, which encodes the KAI1 COOH-terminal interacting tetraspanin protein. KITENIN is implicated in tumor progression and metastasis, particularly in colorectal cancer and head and neck squamous cell carcinoma. By introducing si-KITENIN into cancer cells, KITENIN expression is suppressed at the mRNA level via RNA interference, resulting in decreased cell invasion, migration, and proliferation. si-KITENIN has been evaluated in preclinical models using transfection/intravenous delivery and demonstrated significant anti-tumor effects, including reduced metastasis and tumor burden[2][6].
