Overview

si-MIR4435-2HG is an experimental small interfering RNA (siRNA) designed to silence the long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) MIR4435-2HG. In hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), MIR4435-2HG acts as a competitive endogenous RNA (ceRNA) that sponges miR-29c-3p, which normally suppresses the expression of Ferroptosis Suppressor Protein 1 (FSP1). By silencing MIR4435-2HG, this siRNA restores miR-29c-3p activity, leading to the downregulation of FSP1 and the subsequent induction of ferroptosis. This mechanism has been shown to overcome lenvatinib resistance in HCC cells, suggesting its potential as a therapeutic strategy for advanced liver cancer.
