si-SOX21-AS1 is a small interfering RNA (siRNA) designed to target and knock down the expression of the long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) **SOX21-AS1**. In the context of glioblastoma (GBM) research, SOX21-AS1 has been identified as a downstream target of gain-of-function mutant p53 (MUT-p53). Studies have shown that MUT-p53 binds to the promoter of SOX21-AS1, leading to its upregulation and subsequent oncogenic effects. The use of si-SOX21-AS1 to silence this lncRNA has been demonstrated to induce significant cell death in GBM cell lines, suggesting that SOX21-AS1 plays a critical role in tumor cell survival and may serve as a potential therapeutic target in p53-mutant glioblastoma.
