SIAC 45(B)

SIAC 45(B) is an experimental soluble insulin combination product developed by Novo Nordisk, consisting of 45% insulin aspart and 55% insulin degludec. It was designed as a once-daily subcutaneous injection for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus, aiming to provide both prandial and basal glucose control in a single administration. The formulation was evaluated in Phase 2 clinical trials, such as NCT00614055, where it was compared to insulin glargine and the 30% aspart formulation (SIAC 30(B)). While the 30/70 ratio was eventually developed and approved as Ryzodeg, the 45/55 ratio (SIAC 45(B)) did not proceed to regulatory approval as a standalone product.
