Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Sibenadet is a unique dual-action small molecule agonist of both the **D2 dopamine receptor** and the **beta-2 adrenergic receptor**. It has been investigated primarily for the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and asthma due to its ability to produce bronchodilation through beta-2 adrenergic agonism, while also potentially reducing airway sensory nerve activity via the dopaminergic pathway. The dual mechanism may provide additional therapeutic benefits compared to targeting only one pathway, and sibenadet also has reported neuroprotective effects.
