Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is a combination therapy consisting of sibutramine (an anti-obesity medication), trandolapril (an ACE inhibitor), and verapamil (a calcium channel blocker). The combination is used to treat obese hypertensive patients. Clinical studies have shown that this combination significantly reduces blood pressure and improves anthropometric and metabolic variables without affecting heart rate. The trandolapril and verapamil components work by decreasing certain chemicals that tighten blood vessels, allowing blood to flow more smoothly, while sibutramine promotes weight loss.
