Overview

siCD39 is a **small interfering RNA** designed to silence the expression of the CD39 enzyme (also known as ectonucleoside triphosphate diphosphohydrolase 1, ENTPD1). The RNA modality specifically targets and degrades CD39 mRNA, leading to decreased CD39 protein levels. CD39 is a key immunoregulatory enzyme implicated in the suppression of anti-tumor immunity by catalyzing the hydrolysis of ATP/ADP to AMP, which is subsequently converted to the immunosuppressive molecule adenosine. Inhibition or knockdown of CD39 has been investigated primarily in preclinical studies as a strategy to enhance immune responses in cancer and potentially other diseases involving immune suppression.
