It is an in-hospital proprietary Chinese medicine composed primarily of insect-based ingredients such as Dilong (earthworm), Tubiechong (ground beetle), Wugong (centipede), and Quanxie (scorpion). This formulation is traditionally used to promote blood circulation, remove blood stasis, detoxify, relieve pain, and unblock collaterals. It is indicated for various conditions including joint pain, muscle stiffness, numbness of limbs, thrombotic diseases like thromboangiitis obliterans and thrombophlebitis, lymphadenitis, and bone and joint tuberculosis. Sichong Pian is often prescribed for middle-aged and elderly individuals, those with sedentary lifestyles, and patients suffering from lumbar spine issues or traumatic injuries.
