Overview

siCSF2#1 is a small interfering RNA (siRNA) designed to silence the expression of Colony-Stimulating Factor 2 (CSF2), also known as Granulocyte-Macrophage Colony-Stimulating Factor (GM-CSF). In colorectal cancer (CRC), CSF2 has been identified as a promoter of chemoresistance to agents like 5-fluorouracil (5FU) and oxaliplatin (OXP) by activating the Notch signaling pathway. By targeting CSF2 mRNA for degradation, siCSF2#1 reduces the levels of CSF2 protein, which in turn inhibits Notch signaling and sensitizes CRC cells to chemotherapy. This molecule is primarily used as a research tool in preclinical studies to investigate the molecular mechanisms of drug resistance and to validate CSF2 as a potential therapeutic target in oncology.
