Overview

siCSF2#2 is a specific small interfering RNA (siRNA) sequence designed to silence the expression of Colony-stimulating factor 2 (CSF2), also known as Granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF). In preclinical research, particularly concerning colorectal cancer, siCSF2#2 is utilized to investigate the role of CSF2 in mediating resistance to chemotherapeutic agents such as 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) and oxaliplatin. By targeting and promoting the degradation of CSF2 mRNA, siCSF2#2 reduces CSF2 protein levels, which subsequently inhibits the Notch signaling pathway. This inhibition has been shown to sensitize colorectal cancer cells to chemotherapy, suggesting that CSF2 is a viable target for overcoming drug resistance in this malignancy.
