Drug intelligence / Profile preview
siFibrinogen (SG-002) is a preclinical-stage lipid nanoparticle (LNP)-formulated small interfering RNA (siRNA) therapeutic developed by SeraGene Therapeutics. It specifically targets the mRNA of the fibrinogen alpha chain (FGA) in the liver, enabling a precise, reversible reduction of circulating fibrinogen levels without causing complete depletion. This approach is designed to prevent post-injury venous thromboembolism (VTE) and thrombosis in trauma or mass-casualty settings by mitigating the dangerous post-injury fibrinogen surge while preserving baseline hemostasis and avoiding the bleeding risks associated with standard anticoagulants like low-molecular-weight heparin (LMWH).
