sigesbeckia orientalis extract

Phynova Joint and Muscle Relief Tablets is a traditional herbal medicinal product containing a dry water extract of the aerial parts of *Sigesbeckia orientalis* L. It was the first traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) to be approved as an over-the-counter (OTC) medicine by the UK's Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) under the Traditional Herbal Medicinal Product (THMP) Directive in February 2015. Developed through a collaboration between Phynova and Xiangxue Pharmaceutical, the product is indicated for the symptomatic relief of rheumatic or muscular pain, backache, and minor sports injuries. The active ingredient is prepared by Purapharm Pharmaceutical Co in China and manufactured into tablets by Surapharm Services Ltd in the UK. Its therapeutic effects are based on traditional use for anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties.
