Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SIGHT-1 is a 3D-printed, drug-eluting contact lens developed by MediPrint Ophthalmics for the treatment of glaucoma and ocular hypertension. The system is designed to provide sustained, continuous release of bimatoprost, a prostaglandin analog, to the ocular surface over a period of several days. By integrating the drug into a contact lens using proprietary MediPrint technology, the product aims to overcome the limitations of traditional eye drops, such as poor patient compliance and significant fluctuations in intraocular pressure. SIGHT-1 is currently in Phase 1/2 clinical development and represents a novel approach to ocular drug delivery by combining a medical device with a established pharmaceutical agent.
