Siglec targeting ligand (Aviceda Therapeutics) is an experimental therapeutic candidate being developed for the treatment of pulmonary diseases. Utilizing Aviceda's proprietary HALO (High-Affinity Ligand Optimization) platform, the drug is designed to selectively engage and activate inhibitory Siglec (Sialic acid-binding immunoglobulin-like lectin) receptors on the surface of immune cells. By mimicking the 'self' signals typically provided by the glycocalyx, the ligand triggers inhibitory signaling pathways that dampen overactive immune responses and promote immune homeostasis in the lung. This approach aims to resolve chronic inflammation and tissue damage associated with conditions such as asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) by leveraging the body's natural immune-checkpoint mechanisms.
