Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SIGMA-06G is a first-in-class small molecule therapeutic candidate under development by Filamon for the treatment of dry age-related macular degeneration (dry AMD), including both early-stage disease and late-stage geographic atrophy. Developed under Filamon's proprietary SIGMA platform, the drug is designed to target proteins susceptible to oxidative damage and free radical production, which predisposes them to abnormal, self-propagating, and toxic 'prion-like' misfolding and aggregation. By binding to and inactivating these misfolded proteins, SIGMA-06G aims to deliver dual anti-inflammatory and anti-degenerative therapeutic effects to preserve photoreceptor cells and prevent vision loss.
