Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Signature Cord Prime is a cryopreserved, micronized human umbilical cord tissue allograft developed by Signature Biologics for the management of symptomatic knee osteoarthritis. Classified as a human cell and tissue-based product (HCT/P), it contains a complex array of naturally occurring biological components, including cellular growth factors, pro-angiogenesis factors, anti-inflammatory cytokines, and extracellular matrix components. The product is designed to modulate the intra-articular environment to reduce inflammation, improve joint function, and provide cartilage protection. It is administered via ultrasound-guided intra-articular injection and received FDA Investigational New Drug (IND) approval in February 2021 to proceed with Phase 1 clinical trials.
