Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Signature Tattoo Numbing Cream** is a fixed-dose topical anesthetic product developed and sold by Tattoo Numbing Cream for temporary reduction of pain associated with tattooing and other cosmetic skin procedures. The manufacturer lists lidocaine 5%, prilocaine 5%, and epinephrine 1% as active ingredients. Lidocaine and prilocaine are local anesthetics that reversibly inhibit voltage-gated sodium channels in peripheral nerves, reducing nociceptive signal transmission; epinephrine provides local vasoconstriction through adrenergic receptor activation. The product is applied to intact skin before tattooing. FDA stated in a March 25, 2024 warning letter that this product was marketed in the United States as an external analgesic and was an unapproved new drug and misbranded product under the cited federal requirements.
