siHOXB7 is a small interfering RNA (siRNA) designed to silence the expression of the Homeobox B7 (HOXB7) gene. HOXB7 is a transcription factor often overexpressed in various malignancies, including cervical cancer, where it promotes tumor progression, cell proliferation, and colony formation. By utilizing the RNA interference (RNAi) pathway, siHOXB7 mediates the sequence-specific degradation of HOXB7 mRNA, leading to reduced protein levels. In preclinical research, knockdown of HOXB7 using siHOXB7 has been shown to inhibit cell growth and clonogenicity, recapitulating the effects of tumor-suppressive microRNAs like miR-196b.
