Overview

SIIPL Tdap-IPV is a combined tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis, and inactivated poliovirus (IPV) booster vaccine developed by the Serum Institute of India Pvt Ltd (SIIPL). It is formulated as a suspension of antigens adsorbed on an aluminium adjuvant, containing tetanus toxoid, diphtheria toxoid, acellular pertussis antigens (pertussis toxoid, filamentous hemagglutinin, and pertactin), and inactivated poliovirus types 1, 2, and 3. The vaccine was designed to provide protection against tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis (whooping cough), and poliomyelitis as a booster dose in children, adolescents, and adults. It was evaluated in a Phase I/II clinical trial comparing its safety and immunogenicity to the established vaccine Boostrix-IPV. Development of the vaccine is currently listed as suspended.
