Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Silica 12CH is a homeopathic preparation of silicon dioxide (silica) diluted to the 12C potency level (a dilution factor of 10^-24). It is currently being evaluated by the HOHM Foundation (Institute for the Advancement of Homeopathy) as an adjunctive treatment to mitigate the symptoms of silicosis in quartzite miners in Brazil. Silicosis is a chronic, incurable lung disease caused by the inhalation of crystalline silica dust, which leads to progressive pulmonary inflammation and fibrosis. The HOHM Foundation's research involves a non-blinded, controlled clinical trial assessing the real-world effectiveness and clinical outcomes of this ultra-diluted remedy when used alongside standard palliative care protocols.
