Overview
Aurolab Retisil 1500 is a highly purified silicone oil (polydimethylsiloxane) with a viscosity of 1500 cSt, supplied in a pre-filled syringe (PFS). It is designed for use as an intraocular tamponade in complex vitreoretinal surgeries. By providing sustained mechanical pressure, it holds the retina in place against the pigment epithelium, facilitating reattachment and preventing further tearing. The pre-filled syringe format enhances surgical efficiency, maintains sterility, and ensures precise dosing. It is indicated for retinal detachment with giant tears, proliferative vitreoretinopathy (PVR), proliferative diabetic retinopathy (PDR), CMV retinitis, and traumatic retinal detachment.
