Overview

siLIGHT RNA is a small interfering RNA (siRNA) designed to silence the expression of the LIGHT ligand (also known as TNFSF14). In the context of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) research, siLIGHT RNA is used as a tool to investigate the role of LIGHT/LTbR signaling in the maintenance and expansion of leukemia stem cells (LSCs). By degrading LIGHT mRNA, siLIGHT RNA inhibits the interaction between LIGHT and its receptor, the lymphotoxin beta receptor (LTbR). Experimental studies have shown that inhibiting LIGHT signaling via siLIGHT RNA in human AML leukemic stem and progenitor cells (LSPCs) results in a significantly reduced colony-forming unit (CFU) capacity, suggesting that this pathway is crucial for LSC pathogenesis and represents a potential therapeutic target.
