Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Sililevo Nail Lacquer is a hydrosoluble topical formulation developed by Polichem S.A. (a subsidiary of Almirall) for the treatment of nail disorders requiring remineralization and restructuring. Classified as a medical device, it is composed of hydroxypropyl chitosan (HPCH), horsetail extract (*Equisetum arvense*), and methyl sulfonyl methane (MSM). The product utilizes proprietary Ony-Flex® technology to form an invisible, protective, and elastic film on the nail plate. This film maintains hydration and facilitates the deep delivery of organic silica (from horsetail) and bioavailable sulfur (from MSM) into the nail structure. These components bind to and restructure keratin, the primary structural protein of the nail, thereby improving nail strength and appearance. It is indicated for nails affected by fragility, malformation, and local pain associated with inflammatory conditions such as nail psoriasis.
