silver + EmoLED

EmoLED is a Class IIa medical device developed by Emoled Srl that utilizes blue light photobiomodulation (wavelength 400-430 nm) to accelerate the healing of chronic wounds, including stage II and III pressure ulcers. The 'silver-EmoLED' protocol refers to a combination therapy where the EmoLED device is used as an adjuvant to standard wound care that includes topical silver agents, such as ionic silver spray powder or hyaluronic acid sodium salt with metallic silver. The blue light therapy works by interacting with endogenous photoreceptors like mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase to modulate inflammation and stimulate tissue repair. The silver component provides broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity to manage the wound bioburden, preventing or treating infection in the ulcerated area.
