Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SilverSol is a patented colloidal nanosilver formulation developed by American Biotech Labs (ABL) and manufactured by Viridis BioPharma. It consists of elemental silver nanoparticles, typically at concentrations of 10-30 parts per million (PPM), suspended in deionized water. Unlike traditional ionic silver or simple colloidal silver, SilverSol utilizes a specific metallic nano-particle structure. It is primarily marketed as a dietary supplement and topical agent for immune support and wound healing. Research indicates a multi-targeted antibacterial mechanism of action, including the disruption of bacterial arginine biosynthesis (specifically targeting argG and argH genes), interference with iron homeostasis and nitrogen metabolism, and the alteration of bacterial membrane permeability. It has also been shown to inhibit biofilm formation and protein synthesis in various pathogens, including multidrug-resistant *Staphylococcus aureus* and *Pseudomonas aeruginosa*.
