Overview

siLXN is a small interfering RNA (siRNA) designed to silence the expression of Latexin (LXN), a protein identified as a prognostic marker in pancreatic cancer. Developed for research purposes by investigators at Yonsei University, siLXN is utilized to investigate the functional role of LXN in tumor progression. Experimental data from patient-derived cancer models, including conditionally reprogrammed cell (CRC) cultures and 3D organoids, indicate that siLXN-mediated knockdown of LXN leads to a reduction in Akt/mTOR signaling and inhibits the proliferation of pancreatic cancer cells. While high LXN expression is associated with improved overall survival in patients, siLXN serves as a critical tool for validating the molecular mechanisms and therapeutic potential of targeting the LXN pathway in oncology.
