Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SIM0689 is a preclinical bispecific antibody developed by Nanjing Zaiming Pharmaceutical, a subsidiary of Simcere Pharmaceutical Group. It is designed to simultaneously target Programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) and Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF). This dual-targeting approach aims to combine the benefits of immune checkpoint blockade with anti-angiogenic therapy, potentially overcoming resistance to monotherapies. By inhibiting PD-1, the drug restores T-cell activity against tumor cells, while VEGF inhibition disrupts the blood supply to the tumor and normalizes the tumor vasculature, facilitating better immune cell infiltration. SIM0689 is currently being developed for the treatment of various solid tumors.
