SIM0692

SIM0692 is a biosimilar candidate of romiplostim, a thrombopoietin (TPO) receptor agonist. Developed by Simcere (Shandong Simcere Biopharmaceutical), it is intended for the treatment of chronic immune thrombocytopenia (cITP). As a biosimilar of romiplostim (Romiplate), SIM0692 is a fusion protein consisting of an Fc domain linked to peptides that bind and activate the TPO receptor (MPL). This activation mimics the effect of endogenous thrombopoietin, stimulating the proliferation and differentiation of megakaryocytes in the bone marrow, thereby increasing platelet counts. The drug is currently undergoing Phase 1 clinical evaluation to demonstrate pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic bioequivalence to the reference product.
