SIM0709 is a humanized, long-acting bispecific monoclonal antibody designed to simultaneously target tumor necrosis factor ligand superfamily member 15 (TL1A) and the p19 subunit of interleukin-23 (IL-23p19). Developed by Simcere Pharmaceutical Group using its proprietary multi-specific antibody platform, SIM0709 aims to block two key inflammatory pathways involved in the pathogenesis of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Preclinical studies have demonstrated superior synergistic efficacy compared to the combination of individual monotherapies, suggesting a potent therapeutic potential for chronic inflammatory conditions. In January 2026, Boehringer Ingelheim entered into a significant licensing agreement with Simcere, acquiring global development and commercialization rights for SIM0709 outside of Greater China.
