Overview

SIM0712 is an orally bioavailable, small-molecule proteolysis-targeting chimera (PROTAC) designed to induce the degradation of Signal Transducer and Activator of Transcription 6 (STAT6). Developed by Nanjing Zaiming Pharmaceutical, a subsidiary of Simcere Pharmaceutical Group, SIM0712 targets the IL-4/IL-13 signaling pathway, which is a primary driver of Type 2 (Th2) inflammation. By degrading STAT6, the drug inhibits the transcription of inflammatory mediators involved in allergic and respiratory conditions. It is currently being evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials for the treatment of atopic dermatitis, asthma, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), representing a potential first-in-class oral therapy for these indications.
