Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Simet Forte is an approved gastrointestinal medication developed and manufactured by the Belarusian pharmaceutical company Minskintercaps. It is formulated as 120 mg capsules containing simethicone as the active ingredient. Simethicone is a small molecule that acts as a physically inert surfactant; it works by decreasing the surface tension of gas bubbles in the gastrointestinal tract, causing them to coalesce and facilitating their natural evacuation. The drug is indicated for the symptomatic treatment of conditions associated with excessive gas formation, such as abdominal distention, meteorism (bloating), and feelings of fullness. It was registered by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus in August 2020 and is marketed as a unique dosage form with no foreign analogues at the same strength.
