Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Simhanada Guggulu is a classical Ayurvedic polyherbal formulation widely utilized for its anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and detoxifying properties. It is primarily indicated for the management of Amavata, which correlates with Rheumatoid Arthritis, as well as other musculoskeletal disorders like Ankylosing Spondylitis and gout. The formulation is a synergistic blend of Guggulu (Commiphora mukul), purified Sulfur (Gandhaka), Triphala (a combination of Terminalia chebula, Terminalia bellirica, and Phyllanthus emblica), and Castor oil (Eranda Taila). Its mechanism of action involves the inhibition of pro-inflammatory mediators and the regulation of metabolic waste (Ama) elimination. Clinical studies have demonstrated its efficacy in reducing joint pain, swelling, and stiffness, often showing comparable or superior results to other traditional interventions.
