siMUC1 is a small interfering RNA (siRNA) designed to silence the expression of **Mucin 1 (MUC1)**, a transmembrane glycoprotein that is frequently overexpressed in various malignancies, including **clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC)**. MUC1 plays a significant role in metabolic reprogramming, promoting glucose and lipid metabolism pathways that sustain cancer cell aggressiveness, proliferation, and migration. By utilizing the RNA interference (RNAi) pathway, siMUC1 facilitates the degradation of MUC1 mRNA, thereby reducing protein levels. Experimental evidence suggests that siMUC1 treatment decreases cell motility and viability while enhancing the susceptibility of cancer cells to chemotherapeutic agents such as cisplatin, making it a potential therapeutic strategy for overcoming de novo chemotherapy resistance.
