Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SinaCurcumin is a proprietary oral nano-micellar formulation of curcumin (the primary active polyphenolic compound found in turmeric) developed by Exir Nano Sina. The formulation utilizes nanotechnology to encapsulate curcuminoids within nanomicelles, which significantly overcomes the inherent limitations of curcumin, such as poor water solubility and low systemic bioavailability. SinaCurcumin exerts a range of anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and immunomodulatory effects. Mechanistically, it has been shown to suppress the expression of cyclin D1, downregulate pro-inflammatory cytokines, and enhance the population of regulatory T (Treg) cells by upregulating FoxP3 and anti-inflammatory cytokines like IL-10 and TGF-beta. It has been evaluated in numerous clinical trials for its therapeutic potential in conditions including COVID-19, ulcerative colitis, osteoarthritis, and radiation-induced oral mucositis.
