Overview
Sinaxamol Extra is a fixed-dose combination oral tablet containing the central muscle relaxant orphenadrine citrate (50 mg) and the analgesic/antipyretic paracetamol (650 mg). Developed and marketed by AGP, it is approved for the relief of painful muscle spasms and discomfort associated with acute, painful musculoskeletal conditions such as strains, sprains, herniated discs, sciatica, and tension headaches. Orphenadrine acts centrally as an anticholinergic and NMDA receptor antagonist to reduce muscle tone and spasms, while paracetamol provides complementary pain relief and fever reduction by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis in the central nervous system.
