Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Sinetrol Xpur is a standardized, proprietary blend of polyphenol-rich citrus fruit extracts (including grapefruit, orange, and red/blood orange) and guarana seed extract, developed as a dietary supplement primarily for weight management and metabolic health. The main active compounds are citrus flavanones—naringin and hesperidin (>40% as flavanones)—with caffeine as a secondary component (approximately 3.5%). Sinetrol Xpur has been clinically shown to promote lipolysis (fat breakdown), increase resting energy expenditure, and enhance adipose tissue "beiging," which shifts white adipose tissue toward a more metabolically active, energy-burning state. Mechanistically, it activates the breakdown of triglycerides and upregulates uncoupling protein (UCP) expression, contributing to improved body composition (fat mass reduction without loss of lean mass), lower inflammation (CRP, fibrinogen), improved oxidative stress markers, and positive modulation of gut microbiota relevant for metabolic benefits. It does not contain synephrine. Multiple randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trials have shown statistically significant reductions in body weight, BMI, fat mass, and waist/hip circumference in overweight and obese adults. No significant adverse effects or changes in hepatic, renal, or lipid function were noted in trials.
