Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Sinisan granules is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formula composed of four primary herbal ingredients: *Bupleurum chinense* (Chai Hu), *Citrus aurantium* (Zhi Shi), *Paeonia lactiflora* (Bai Shao), and *Glycyrrhiza uralensis* (Gan Cao). Traditionally used to soothe the liver and regulate Qi, it is currently being investigated in clinical trials for the treatment of mild to moderate depression, particularly in patients with breast cancer. The formula is hypothesized to exert its therapeutic effects by modulating the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis, regulating neurotransmitter levels such as serotonin and dopamine, and influencing bile acid metabolism and immune markers. It is typically administered orally in a granule formulation.
